The Beja Cultural Studies Center was established in 2007 by an act of Red Sea State as a project of Red Sea University with the following aims:
- To make known all aspects of the Beja Culture.
- To promote reading and writing in the Beja language.
- To connect the University with the surrounding Beja community.
- To create a liaison with other universities and centers which are concerned with similar activities. To collect, document, and publish studies that are related to the Beja culture, i.e. in language, poetry, customs, methods of conflict resolution, etc.
We are located on the campus of Red Sea University in Port Sudan, but have carried out projects all over the state.
